Recap of the Tracy Chamber Mixer on 3/26/09

This evening I attended the Tracy Chamber of Commerce’s monthly mixer hosted by the Tracy Hispanic Business Group at El Castillo Mexican Restaurant in downtown Tracy. Adrian Franco of Hacienda Flooring was kind enough to let me tag along with him as he made his rounds. The first people we ran into were Becky Fields and Jana Leigh Enos, both of whom I’ve met previously at the Tracy Chamber Orientation. Becky owns and operates Becky Fields Designs, a web design firm that offers low cost web options, and helps organize the Tracy Entrepreneurs Group. Becky was super helpful with getting me signed up for the Tracy Trade Show in May. Jana works with ameriplanusa to provide low cost health services through their provider network.  She also had the scoop on some cool advertising opportunities.  We took a few minutes to catch up, then it was on to meet some new people.

As I walked toward the next group, out of the corner of my eye, I could have sworn I saw a women with purple hair and purple eyebrows (and no, I had nothing to drink). Turns out I was right. I walked right over and had to introduce myself to Terry “Miss Sparkles Delight” Donaldson. She is awesome! She and her husband run Creative Clowning and have performed at over 3500 events over the last 10 years. She is one of the few people that I have met who have truly found their calling.

One of the highlights of the evening was winning a wine gift basket Provided by Oscar Anzaldo in the raffle. Oscar is a Licensed Financial Services Professional with New York Life and owner of Anzaldo OP Insurance & Financial Services LLC. He gave me some good advice about love and learning, and gave me some tips on where to get the best produce. An all around great guy.

I can’t believe it took me so long to make it out to one of these. I had a blast. If you do business in Tracy, I highly recommend that you join the Tracy Chamber and make it out to one of the mixers. You can expect good food, great people, and loads of fun.
